The Parish Council comprises eleven Parish Councillors who work on a voluntary basis, and supported by a Part-time Clerk and a full time Green-keeper. The team are dedicated to enhancing the activities and facilities which currently operate in the Parish.
The Parish itself comprises the catchment areas of Brasside, Pity Me, and Framwellgate Moor and all matters appertaining to any part of our area can be considered by the Parish Council.
The Parish Council Green-keeper is based in the Pavilion Building in Front Street, and he is always able, ready and willing to visit any part of the Parish where there is a matter to attend to. The Green-keeper has a vehicle and can quickly get to any part of the Parish. This vehicle has been recently acquired and also has snow gritting and snow clearing attachments and the Council supports the County Council in clearing areas of footpaths etc which are not attended to by them.
In the vicinity of the Pavilion Building we have the recently revamped King George the fifth playing area which comprises playground facilities, tennis courts and there is also a neighboring football pitch which is used by local football clubs.
Behind the Pavilion Building there is also a Bowling Green which is used throughout the Spring and Summer and the Bowling Green itself is maintained by your Green-keeper.
All administrative, financial and legal matters of the Parish Council are overseen by the part-time Clerk to the Council and who can be contacted on the Parish Council’s e mail address set out in the contacts section of the web site.
We hope that you like the Councils new website and would welcome any feedback on its present style and content.
Please take a look at the website and look out for events and activities taking place in your Parish.
All members of the Public are welcome to come along to our monthly meetings and there is a dedicated agenda item for Public matters. Details of the dates and times of meetings are set out on the website together with fuller details of agenda and minutes of the Parish Council.
