The Children’s Parks

There are four children’s play parks in the Parish. King George V, Abbey Road, Brasside and the Avenue.

The Parish Council completed the King George V play area in 2012 and is proving very popular with the residents of our Parish and the surrounding area.

Some of you may remember what it looked like previously but it now depicts a play area, tennis court and a number of other leisure activities.

The play-park in Brasside was installed after working with local school children to design something that they wanted and equipment that was different to other play-parks in the area. Most adults would agree they met that requirement especially when it comes to the slide!!!

Whilst the area was closed it allowed us to make significant investment underground with drainage channels put in as prior to this the field area was a bog, for most of the year you needed wellies just to walk across it. We now have an area that can be used all year round and goalposts for our young people to use and enjoy.

In time we would like to further develop the recreation area to allow adults and children alike to have a safe and secure place to enjoy.
