WW1 Commemorative Plaque

Following a discussion at the council regarding what would best help commemorate the WW1 centenary year, it was decided that the best way to help remember those who passed away was the creation of commemorative plaque.

The plaque is placed in the memorial garden and it will act as a reminder and indeed thanks for the men and women of this district who bravely gave their lives in times of peace and war.

We worked in conjunction with the Durham branch of the Royal British Legion, who throughout the process provided us with support, for this we would like to thank them.  We would also like to pay thanks to Durham City Council who were extremely generous in supplying us with a grant, which helped partially fund the creation the commemorative plaque. Last and by no certain means least we would like to thank the continued support of the team that helped bring this project together.
