The Clerk to the council and members of the council are working hard to ensure that Framwellgate Moor Parish Council is up to date and compliant with the GDPR rules which come into force on 25th May 2018.
We are continuing our update of policies. You can find a list under “The Parish Council ” tab – follow the link to Policies
This is the latest addition
We have made some changes to the way our meetings are conducted. There will be a full council meeting every first Wednesday of the month, held at The Pavilion, King James V field, DH1 5BL, starting at 18:30. All are welcome to attend.
There will be additional subcommittee meetings held in the previous month. When there is a settled pattern to these meetings I will post advance notice of these meetings too. These meetings will also be open to members of the community.
Until then, I will be publishing the minutes of those meetings at the same time as I post the agenda for the full council meetings.
Councillor Peter Dawson
The Pavilion at King George V Field is now open for use. It has been completely refurbished and redecorated. The Parish Council is now meeting at the Pavilion again after our recent use of the Community Centre.
The Parish Council meets every first Wednesday of every month at 18:30 – members of the public are always welcome. If there are any issues you think the council should know about you can either get in touch via the website or come along to the meetings to tell us in person.
Congratulations and welcome to our new Parish Councillors:

Another fascinating addition to the Framwellgate Moor archive, Greme Vasey’s A Village Trail, was written when he was a student at framwellgate Moor Comprehensive School in 1999. Much has changed and much has been lost in the thirty years or so since George Brown was writing. Glimpses of the past can still be discerned in […]
This is an appendix to the book and describes Framwellgate Moor as it was pre 1925. The photographs at the back of the pdf are front and back views of of Newcastle Row (courtesy of Beamish Museum). The book is in the Clayport library in Durham. Coal and Power with FM photographs This an extract from: Framwellgate Moor Parish: historical events of the nineteen hundreds (Adult Non-Fiction) by George Brown. George describes the same scene as David Lloyd George but from an historical perspective. He was born and lived in the rows for most of his life. After a varied career, as parish clerk and newspaper columnist he committed his memoirs to print. This is a short extract of a much larger work: A History of Framwellgate Moor_The Rows
